Articles of Faith
1. The Scripture:
We believe the inspired word of God as written in the King James
Version of the Holy Bible. Holy men under the supervision,
guidance, and inspiration of God wrote both old and new
testaments. They are the final authoritative words of God for
doctrine, faith, salvation, teaching, learning, and guidance of
the church and believers.
John 1:1 and II Timothy 3:16
2. God:
We believe in one God, the Creator of the heavens, earth, and
all things that are in the heavens, in the earth, and under the
earth. He is manifested in three separate and distinct persons,
the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit being perfect, infinite, and
equal in all things past, present, and future.
Matthew 28:19-20 and II Corinthians 13:14
3. Jesus Christ:
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is God, manifest in the flesh,
conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. He
lived a sinless life in the flesh and was crucified on the cross
for atonement of sin. He died, was buried, resurrected on the
third day, and is now seated at the right hand of God making
intercession for all born again believers and confessing sinners
for salvation. We hold fast the faith in His return to rapture
the saints, set up His throne and establish His Kingdom.
Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25; Matthew 28:6; John 14:3; I
Thessalonians 4:16-17; I Peter 2:22; and I Peter 3:18.
4. Holy Spirit:
We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead,
equal in power and authority with God the Father and the Son. We
believe the Holy Spirit convicts men of sin, regenerates,
baptizes, indwells, seals, and sets the believer apart from the
world and works of Satan. The Holy Spirit keeps, renews,
comforts, teaches, and reveals the word and will of God to the
believer day by day.
John 14:16-17; Romans 8:9; I Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 1:13;
and I John 2:20-27
5. Man:
We believe God created man from the dust of the earth in the
image and likeness of God. Through and by sin, man was banished
from the presence and Holy state of God unable to make
recompense for his sins except by the shedding of blood of a
perfect sacrifice. Therefore, God, by His grace and mercy,
supplied the perfect and final sacrifice, His Son, Jesus Christ
to be the substitute and propitiation for man's sin, that if man
would accept and believe the Lord Jesus Christ he could have
salvation and freedom from his sin. Through salvation, man can
attain justification, sanctification, eternal life, and
communion with God.
Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23-25; and Romans 5:12-21
6. Salvation:
We believe salvation is by the grace of God through faith in the
Lord Jesus Christ, not of works that man has done, can do, or
will do. It is a free gift of God, freely given to all who will
accept and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. All who believe to
repentance are regenerated by the Holy Spirit, made a new
creature in Christ having escaped the corruption that is in the
world through lust, sealed and kept by the power of God unto the
day of redemption. Salvation is the one and only way to attain
eternal life with Christ.

John 3:16-17; John 10:28-30; Romans 10:9-11; Ephesians 2:8-10; I
Peter 1:5,18-23; and II Peter 1:4
7. Justification:
We believe that justification is the showing to be just or
conformable to law. It is the remission of sin and absolution
for guilt and punishment. It is an act of free grace by which
God pardons the sinner and accepts him as righteous because of
the atonement of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are
justified by our faith in Christ.

2:4; Acts 13:39; Romans 4:25; Romans 5:1,16,18; and Galatians
3:24
8. Sanctification:
We believe Sanctification is purification from sin and making
free of the believer from the guilt of past sin. It is the
setting apart of the believer for a
sacred purpose or a holy work. We are sanctified by the word and
when we have purged ourselves of sins we are made fit for God's
use and prepared unto good works.
Ephesians 5:26; II Thessalonians 2:13; II Timothy 2:21; and I
Peter 1:2
9. The Eternal State:
We believe the soul is an eternal being that will live
throughout eternity with full use of all senses and knowledge of
their surroundings. Immediately after death or the coming of
Christ the believer will live with joy and happiness in the
presence of God and the unbeliever will live in pain, agony, and
torments in the depths of hell and the Lake of Fire.
Matthew 25:46; John 5:28-29; John 14:13: II Corinthians 5:8; I
Thessalonians 4:16-17; and Revelation 20:11-15
10. The Ordinances:
We believe the ordinances are set forth in God's Holy Word.
a. Baptism:
We believe in total immersion in water of the believer in the
name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an
outward showing of the believer's faith in Christ's death,
burial, and resurrection.
Matthew 3:16; Acts 8:35-38; Romans 6:3-5; and I Peter 3:21
b. The Lord's Supper:
We believe the Lord's supper is an ordinance of Jesus Christ,
representing His body that was broken and His Blood that was
shed for the remission of sin. It is to be observed by the
church until the coming of Christ. It is to be preceded by an
earnest soul searching self-examination and taken with a
reverent attitude.
I Corinthians 11:24-29;
11. Local Assembly:
We believe the local assembly is a group of born again believers
united together under the constitution for the spreading of the
gospel and the furtherance of God's kingdom. Jesus Christ is the
head of the church with all other officers coming under Christ.
We believe the local assembly is self-sufficient,
self-supporting, and able to govern itself without interference
from other local assemblies, associations, or other outside
groups or individuals. We gather together at designated times in
one mind and one accord to worship and fellowship one with
another in the
love of God.
Acts 2:41-42; II Corinthians 8:23-24; Ephesians 1:22; Ephesians
5:23-24; Colossians 1:18; and Hebrews 12:23
12. Satan:
We believe Satan is a fallen cherub, defeated by God and cast
out of Heaven before the beginning of time unto everlasting
punishment. He is the prince and power of air, going about the
earth seeking to destroy God's work and hinder the working of
the believer through temptation of evil.
Ezekiel 28:14; Matthew 4:2-11, 25:41; II Corinthians 11:13-15;
Ephesians 2:2; I Peter 5:8; and Revelation 12:9, 20:10
